Drupal.org redesign efforts

It's official the Drupal Redesign team of Mark Boulton and Leisa Reichelt from Mark Boulton Design was at Drupalcon in Szeged. They discussed their strategy and initial findings for the redesign of Drupal.org. If you want to follow this projects progress or get involved keep an RSS on the Redesign group.

g.d.o High Performance Group

This group is dedicated to solutions and approaches for high traffic, high performing Drupal sites. As such, it will deal with a lot of information around the rest of a typical Drupal "stack" -- the operating system, web server, database, and PHP tweaks that combine to support the Drupal application.

I found this group while researching for tips about Drupal and Cloud Computing.

Clean URL .htaccess configuration

Successfully, I spent the last day trying to enable Clean URL's on a Drupal 5.7 remote server (media temple (dedicated virtual). I want to thank all CDMUG members who pulled together with me to investigate this by phone, email, and IM. Im walking away from this with a new appreciation for linux guru's and the ssh command line. With that said - Im going to provide a 5 step hack to enable Clean URL's. I'd only try this hack as a last resort; I put a few links below that have more tips on the subject.
