We're starting to plan a Chicago Drupal Camp for the spring. This will be a larger and more marketed event then CDMUG's monthly meetups, with a planned agenda for the day. Any ideas? We're on the hunt for a great location and sponsors~!

I like the idea of using your drupal meetup's for some noob-fu activity, but I think a Drupal Camp Chicago could easily sustain and provide 3 tracks, a n00b, int, and fu level. The rotation of the city host is great for building the community and bringing in people that cannot make even the 2-3 hour drive!
See you in Boston!
PS math captchas are hard.

We have a great opportunity to expand interest and activity with Drupal In the Midwest, I say go for it.
One caution: Let's make sure it's not half assed or competitive with other events. The "spring" calendars are quite full already and not far away, let's not underestimate what can be accomplished with quality.
I will be happy to help plan, recruit, and organize. Shall we get some regular online meetings started to get the ball rolling?

In my infatuation with DrupalCamp and related discussion, I almost forgot that Penguin Day Chicago is coming up soon! Stay tuned for more details about that.... There will definitely be a post on CDMUG and possibly more related.
What Kyle spoke of below is my grand vision for DrupalCamps in the Midwest. I think it would be wonderful to have a large event more than once a year, and always rotating between cities. But, the point is to grow a close knit community, so choosing Chicago, Milwaukee, and Madison I think is key. They are all pretty much equidistant from eachother and easy enough to get to. There are plenty of places we could hold DCamp at. Schools in each city, multiple other venues, plenty to do (except Bucketworks is only in Milwaukee...)
Anyway, I'm goin' back to the grind. I'll catch y'all later!

I'd like to see a target audience for this type of larger Chicago Drupal event/camp. The monthly Chicago Drupal Meet Up Group events pull in a wide variety of Drupal interested users from n00bs to all-star ninja's. I think that CDMUG monthly events are good for this reason, however with a larger event the Open Source community might be best served with a event targeted for Advanced users via Chicago's central location.
Also I saw Jake's comment that this style of event would be great multiple times a year - split between Milwaukee, Chicago, Madison (and maybe another town).
