CDMUG has another excellent event under the belt... Thursday's, (April 19th) meetup was full of creative ideas and examples of Drupal CMS websites in action. Check out a few sites we discussed: D7TV (check out the right nav - sweet UI) and FA Skates. Of course, another huge thank-you towards onShore, for allowing us to host the event upstairs in their conference room.
The meeting started off with talking about trends in Internet and social-networking web technology. Working its way into an (always free*) Drupal install for a local - Chicago non-profit, called Resource Center. As you may or may not know, Drupal's Content Management Systems (CMS) is well designed to support non-profit organizations and CDMUG has been anxious to help a member get online with Drupal.
With less than a week of working with Drupal it is obvious that Kevin Pierce of Resource Center, who is also somewhat of a tech-guy himself, is on a mission to improve the quality of life for urban dwellers and it shows with his recent updates made to the Resource Center's - Drupal Test Drive website.
*Drupal installs are hosted at CDMUG.org/YourBetaWebsite by CDMUG member Matthew Lechleider. This hosted space is reserved for members to learn and hack with Drupal. At anytime the ability to re-install the Beta website onto there own servers is always an available option. This means you will not loose-out on your efforts and still be able to test-drive Drupal through your relationship with the CDMUG community.
