Senior Drupal Developer

Imagination Publishing is looking to add a Senior Developer to our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work and progress within an award-winning creative agency.

Our ideal candidate is a curious team player who is passionate about the online world and technology and can think creatively about front-end implementation, back-end development, long-term maintenance and results measurement. Experience in a marketing or advertising environment is a major plus. Our candidate must have experience being in a fast-paced, technology-based business, preferably with experience in digital publishing and web development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Developer will architect, develop, manage, test and maintain our client websites, Content Management Systems and databases. Reporting to the Director Technology, the Senior Developer will also participate in the strategy, design and development of new business initiatives, author project scope documentation and functional requirements, and work closely with everyone in the organization to advance technology initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will be highly experienced in Drupal, with actual hands-on development experience and versed in the following areas: ability to theme; view creation; block development; Ubercart (e-commerce); module creation; CSS aggregation; ability to build content entry forms to meet client business requirements.

Additionally, our candidate will be highly experienced in PHP, Javascript, CSS, and should have some knowledge of/experience with .NET and ColdFusion. Solid database experience with MSSQL and MYSQL is also a requirement, as is some server administration knowledge (specifically LAMP stacks… i.e. Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP). In addition, candidate should demonstrate strong understanding of and experience with Web Standards, SEO and measurement and tracking technologies.

Experience in DHTML, XHTML and XML, enterprise level CMS (TextPattern & SharePoint), widget development, social network app development, AJAX and Web 2.0 development experience are highly desired. Candidate must also be well versed in implementing Photoshop designs, template creation and Web optimization processes.

Strong experience with cross-platform CSS, Javascript 2.0, Flash ActionScript 3.0 and other Web 2.0 tools desirable. Extensive knowledge of cross-browser compatibility & browser degradation strategies highly valued.

EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• BS/BA degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• At least 5+ years of work experience in website development, preferably at the same company.
• 3+ years of HTML, CSS, and Javascript experience
• 2+ years of relational database experience, including database design, maintenance, and optimization
• Experience with Omniture, Webtrends or other Web analytics software packages

• Ability to translate technical considerations into language understandable by less-technical team members (internal and client teams)
• Strategic, solutions-oriented, big-picture thinking and attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team with a solid work ethic
• Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Involvement in advancing web standards, demonstrating industry thought leadership is a plus.
• High-energy, outgoing personality with excellent analytical skills
• Aptitude and interest in professional growth, and willingness to take on new and additional responsibilities as needed
