cdmug.org drupal 6

As a Drupal user group it is only right to have our web site containing the most current stable version. cdmug.org should be changed to Drupal 6 as soon as possible after the stable release.

Wow, this thread is over 1 year old. I think it is time we finally upgrade to drupal 6.

I finish college this month and have lots of time to put into the site. Is anybody available to help me? I have been slowly creating stuff for the new version over the past year. A big issue we need to tackle is consolidating meetup.com, groups.drupal.org, and cdmug.org into one centralized site.

We can work in #cdmug or even get coffee/lunch. I want the site to be much simpler and don't think it is that large of a project. Volunteers, please step up, we need help!

According to CHX, Drupal 6 should be finished in 2 days.

I have been playing with D6 rc's for a while on a server at home. Hopefully next week Drupal 6 will be available for the public. Then I can setup a new server environment especially for the development of cdmug.org version 2. The new server is php5, apache 5, mysql 5, better hardware, etc...

A major issue is the amount of modules on this current cdmug website. We need to strip down these modules as much as possible to make the change into D6 as easy as possible.

If anyone is interested in this project and wants access, let me know.

More to come....
