Drupalcon Chicago 2010?

matthew's picture

Drupal Camp Chicago 2008 was a great success. We have an estimated $1500 - $2000 being donated to the Drupal Association. Maybe this will help us in our bid for Drupalcon Chicago 2010.

Chicago is a central hub in the United States for many areas. We might be able to host the largest Drupalcon to date. The sooner we get the ball rolling with this, the better. What is next?

CDMUG Relocation

onShore is a great place for a meetup, but the space is limited. Many offers have arose in the past for new meetup locations, but never are followed up on. I have talked to several people about spots, but I never hear back after a few emails.

If anyone has a recommendation on a location, please discuss it here. Keep in mind we will have some requirements and may need even larger space for a special Chicago event.

Requirements: (feel free to add/remove)

  1. Free
  2. Central area of Chicago close to everyone
  3. Free parking
  4. Close to CTA
  5. Multiple power hook up

Drupalcon Boston

I am planning on attending Drupalcon Boston as my first full on Drupal event! I thought I would kick off a forum topic to see who else is planning on attending. Maybe we could coordinate some travel related expenses or activities to make a great event opportunity into an EXCELLENT one.

I plan on flying (probably Southwest to Providence since it's about a $220 round trip special). I have some friends in Boston who can advise on some "local" experience too. I hope to make some of the basic arrangements over the next two weeks.
