August Meet Up Review

Tagged:  •    •

Well, the Chicago Drupal Meet Up Group's August event saw the worst weather of the month and in our CDMUG history. We had some seriously wicked weather, the highest measured winds I heard were 74 mph gust near Wrigley Field. Here's a link to a few (pictures) from the storm. However, we still had a excellent event with 12 brave and hard core drupalers attending.

Forum Block Added to Left Nav

Tagged:  •

Well, I noticed a new post on the CDMUG forums - so I added the "Active Forum Topics" Block to the left nav. If you have any ideas for a different title name - please let me know - or validated CDMUG members should have permissions to make the edits themselves - (if you see the need - be bold). After each edit please write up a short blog post about the update. BTW: I've attached a photo I took from the July meet up - "The official drinks of CDMUG"

June Meetup Review

Tagged:  •    •    •

The CDMUG 1 Year Anniversary Meetup was a night to set records. We had the largest showing yet, of 9, Drupal enthusiast attend --- and it was always moving. In our typical fashion we started the meetup in a storm of questions about each others latest projects.

May Meetup Review

Tagged:  •    •    •    •

Drupal Install Night was a great success. We must have installed 7 or so new websites in 3 or 4 different environments (Windows, Linux, Dedicated Virtual Server, etc.) Also there was an educational "d.o" discussion about the new Pro Drupal Development book. For example we discussed how the Drupal plumbing handles a web page request (outlined in the books 1st chapter on page 8). I can't speak for everyone but I'm sure we'd agree that Drupal has an incredibly flexible CMS framework.

April Meetup Review

Tagged:  •

CDMUG has another excellent event under the belt... Thursday's, (April 19th) meetup was full of creative ideas and examples of Drupal CMS websites in action. Check out a few sites we discussed: D7TV (check out the right nav - sweet UI) and FA Skates. Of course, another huge thank-you towards onShore, for allowing us to host the event upstairs in their conference room.
